A while ago I heard Lily singing a bunch of funny songs, so I grabbed my video camera, walked in and set it down on a counter in front of her. I acted real casual about it so she didn’t know I was really video taping her. I LOVE this song, hilarious!!! I call it the Grateful Song by Lily Escobar. The end is my favorite part.

Alright, I’m slowly but surely catching up on everything since I’ve been home, still have some suitcases to unpack and laundry to fold, but it’s coming along.

I wanted to share a little more about our trip for the sake of anyone thinking about going on a cruise.  I thought I’d throw out my two cents and review of the ship The Allure of the Seas, the newest (3 months old) and largest ship in the world.

In this video I share my Top Five favorite things about the ship. Then below I’ll share my complaints because I do have a few.

COMPLAINTS

*The room was WAY too small for a family of 4.  By the end of the 7 days I was about ready to pull my hair out.  On our last cruise we got a small suite which was perfect!!! But this time since we chose a more expensive cruise ship we weren’t able to get a suite unless we wanted to throw down $12,000.  So we chose the more conservative route.

It’s not easy going from THIS

To THIS

It was so small, I couldn’t even step back enough to get a full view for the picture.

* And for my second complaint, the baby center was a piece of crap!  Sorry, but this is the one thing that frustrated me the most.  When we booked this cruise I was so excited because this cruise ship actually accommodates babies. Most of the other cruise lines only have child centers for ages 3 and up. So I was so excited to get the chance to do some things on the ship, just Sean and I.  You know, the best of both worlds. You get to have your kids with you, but you also get some alone time with your spouse.

The first night we went to drop Oliver off, he screamed his head off. I felt so bad that I went in and got him. Then the second night I was determined to make it happen, so I took him in there again and sat outside the room listening to him scream, “I want mama, I want mama” over and over and over. Just when I was about to give in, he stopped. Just broke my heart though.

Needless to say, I didn’t dare do it to him again. So that was his last visit to the baby center.
Basically, the baby center was really just for babies, like tiny babies that don’t really know what the hecks going on. Oliver is going into the toddler stage and needs space to run around and play. The baby center was probably about the same size as our room, it was dark, and completely uninviting. I was NOT impressed. He would have had a ball if he got to go in the same room as Lily. Her kids club was AWESOME. We couldn’t get her to leave, and every day she would beg to go back.

* And now for my last complaint. The first stop was the Bahama’s and the ship was only there until 12:30pm, which was WAY too short. By the time we woke up, got ready and had breakfast it was already 11am. So basically we got off the ship, walked around for 30 min trying to decide what to do before realizing we ran out of time. We just walked right back onto the ship and didn’t get to do a thing on that stop. Such a bummer :(

If you need help booking a cruise we have a friend in the business. You can contact her on facebook.

Even though I’m not a little girl anymore, I STILL want to be a princess when I grow up :) Last week we celebrated Lily’s birthday party and we were lucky enough to have the REAL Princess Amerah come. All the little girls had an absolute ball, literally. We started the party out with a little swimming at a nearby recreation center, then we all gathered into the party room to make way for the special appearance of Princess Amerah.
I was so impressed with everything Princess Amerah did with the girls, and she’s a beautiful singer too. Here’s a short clip of the party.

As part of the birthday package, Lily got her very own signed copy of Princess Amerah’s book.

Here is a short description of what the book is all about. It has such a great message for ALL little girls.

Amerah is a shy, young girl, whose classmates constantly tease her about her bright-red hair. She often seeks solace from her grandmother and the tales she relates to Amerah about the Magic Land of Amaryllis. Just before Grandmother Rose passes away, she shares with Amerah the greatest secret of all:  the existence of a magic dress that would someday be hers!

When her new nanny, Olga, appears at the front door, Amerah soon discovers that something about Olga is not quite right.  After all, what kind of lady takes such delight in jamming her cold, hard cane through the wheels of a boys bike and sending him flying through the air.

Amerah knows that the only way to save herself and her puppy, Sadie, from the clutches of her cruel nanny is to find the magic dress. But will she find it in time?

Amerah is about to embark on the journey of her life, an adventure she could never have imagined in her wildest dreams.

Princess Amerah is a professional childrens entertainer who performs at all sorts of events. She can be hired for Birthday Parties, Elementary School Assemblies, Library Programs, Expos, Business Promotion, Theme Parks, and Cruise Lines.

She has been hired to perform for thousands of children at hundreds of birthday parties, and childrens events throughout the state of Utah, and is available for travel within and outside the United States.

I’ve been wanting to feature my mom for FAB Friday, and this week is most fitting. My mom is amazing, seriously! You would not believe what this women has endured in her lifetime. First of all she had 9 kids, and that right there is extremely admirable. I always said I wanted to have lots of kids because I loved growing up with so many siblings. Now that I’m a mom of just two, I CANNOT imagine how it’s possible!!! My constant question for these women who’ve had a lot of children, is HOW IN THE HECK DID YOU DO IT?????????

First of all, can you imagine being pregnant for 81 months, that’s almost 7 years of your life………..PREGNANT!!!! Now, I’m sorry, I’m not one of those women who cherish every moment of pregnancy, I know I should, but I REALLY don’t enjoy it. Now imagine how many diapers my mom changed, and having to potty train 9 two year olds. Ugh, I’m getting tired just thinking about it. I’m sure she was completely exhausted by the end of the day, but somehow ALL 9 of us are still alive, and somehow, she was able to remain sane enough to endure each day, showing us love and tending to our every need.
I think we all go through a period of time in our lives where we may not appreciate our mothers the way we should, most likely during the teenage years. But now that I have children of my own, I cannot be more grateful for ALL that she did for me. I don’t remember the night time feedings, the diaper changing, potty training, meals she made, ALL the cleaning she must have done, but NOW I KNOW what she did each day for me when I was young.
My mom is the kind of person that just LOVES everyone, and does not judge them. She’s the most forgiving, compassionate, humble, spiritual person you’ll ever meet. She devotes much of her time helping others and serving in the church. She is also VERY green, she never wastes anything. One of my favorite quotes is, “fix it up, wear it out, make it do, or do without”. This quote might as well have been my moms. She’s the perfect example of someone who lives very meagerly, doesn’t need nice things, and lives as natural as possible. She loves to garden, sew, and quilt, and she’s VERY good at it. Another thing that I LOVE about her, is that she’s a GREAT listener. She will listen to you ramble on and on without interrupting, and completely engaged in what you’re saying. She gives great advice, I’ll always remember that about her. I’ve talked her ear off many times when ever I was having a bad day. She was always there to give me some words of encouragement. While I was on my mission, her letters were so uplifting and filled with inspiration. She always knew just what I needed to hear. Now that I’m writing this, it’s making me realize I DON’T tell her enough, how much I love and appreciate her. I’m actually tearing up just thinking about how great she is.
Mom, I love you more than words. You are such an inspiration, and I’m so grateful for all you’ve done for me. You amaze me!!!!
I’ve put together this video to express my appreciation for all the moms out there. I’m excited to have my amazing friends and family be part of it. I love you all, and HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!!!!!

I’m always amazed with all those people trying out for American Idol, with the possibility of being scrutinized by the entire world. How nerve racking that must be. I admire their courage and couldn’t imagine anything more difficult.

As little girls, we grow up watching singing princesses living fairy tale lives. We dream of our weddings and living our own fairy tale one day. I’ve always LOVED music and I love singing, although it’s not one of my talents. I love listening to the lyrics of songs and applying them to my life. There’s nothing better than finding a song that describes how you’re feeling in every way. I would love to write a few songs one day, as a way of articulating myself ( I better add that to my life list ). I am a true believer that we all have special talents. Some have been blessed with an incredible voice, and others……well, not so much. But I don’t think that should hold us back from singing when you want, or expressing ourselves through song. I always dreamed of singing a love song to my husband on our wedding day. I imagined I would write a song of my own, or find the perfect song with the right words to express how I felt. So, when that day finally came, I wasn’t about to give up on that dream. I didn’t exactly have much time to write my own song, since we only dated for 2 weeks, and were engaged for 3 months before getting married. So instead I found the ultimate song to convey how I felt about the love of my life.
One of the biggest things I’ve struggled with in life, is caring too much what other people think. It has held me back in some ways and kept me from doing what I really wanted at times. I am determined to overcome it, and the only way to overcome it, is to keep fulfilling my passions and dreams without second thought of what others may think. That is really hard for me, but I’m committed to not letting that hold me back.
Think about all the things you ever wanted to do, BUT DIDN’T, for fear of what others would say.

My wedding day was all about Sean and I, and I wanted to do something extra special that came from the heart. I’ve put together a short clip to show you a little of what that day was like for me.
