Yep, that’s me 9 months pregnant. Not really looking forward to getting that big again, but I do wish I was 9 months pregnant right now. Could the time go any slower when pregnant?

I tend to have big babies. Lily was 8 lb. 3 oz. and Oliver was 9 lbs 4 oz. I got asked all the time if I was having twins when I was pregnant with Oliver. Aw, sure made me feel good getting comments like that. When you feel like a whale, there’s nothing better than perfect strangers confirming that you look like one.

So most of you already know that Friday we found out we are having a GIRL!!! (I announced it on Facebook). It was no surprise to me though since I was already planning on a girl :) So far the name I absolutely LOVE is Brooklyn Star. Sean came up with the middle name and I REALLY love it!!!

The fun part about this is that my little sister is pregnant with a little girl too. She actually had her baby shower this weekend and I wanted to show you some of the things I made for her.

First is this cute little headband.

Yes, this baby is actually a doll. Creepy how real it looks though right? We got this for Lily the day Oliver was born. We wanted her to feel like she had a real baby of her own. We got it from The Ashton Drake Galleries.

I also made a matching bracelet. It was so simple too. Just took a piece of ribbon, cut it to size, hot glued a little flower and jewel on it, added a snap and wahlah!!!

Then I made this fun diaper cake. Once I got all the diapers put together I just added the ribbon around the bottom two layers, and the headband on the top layer. Then I clipped on a couple more hair accessories for her baby.

Here’s a quick little tutorial in case you’ve never made one before.

First you’ll need a box of these large polybands. You can get them in the hair accessory isle at most any convenient store.

Start rolling the diapers starting from the top, when finished, stick a polyband around it.

Then fill up a baby bottle with some candy…

Place a rubber band around it…

and start adding the rolled up diapers.

Then add another rubber band around it for the second layer of diapers.

You can do more layers, but I just chose to do two so it would fit on the cake platter I bought.

And for the top layer I just stuck a pencil down the middle to help keep it on the second layer.

So there ya go.

A diaper cake. Now go enjoy yourself a slice :)

Oh, and here is are a few pictures of the humming birds nest we found in our front yard. The little babies hatched and we got to watch them grow and take their first flight out of the nest.

Here’s a little story I MUST share with you. It took place back when Lily was just a new born and I only WISH I had it on video.

“You dare me to drink this bottle of breast milk.” Asked my father-in-law as he raised the 4-ounce baby bottle in front of the whole family. Everyone looked disgusted as he opened the bottle preparing to drink. He thought he was playing a joke on everyone. Little did he know the joke was on HIM.

We were all over for a nice Sunday meal, which my benevolent good mother-in-law puts together for us from time to time. Earlier that night, Tony, Sean and I had planned it. We filled a baby bottle with soymilk so that Tony could pretend as though he was going to drink my breast milk.

Sean and I secretly made a whole new plan of our own. We switched out the bottle of soymilk with a fresh bottle of breast milk, which I had so generously prepared earlier that day. We let the whole family in on the joke, without Tony’s knowledge of course.

As Tony slowly lifted the bottle to his mouth, we all looked at him in awe. Was he REALLY going to drink it?
Tony thought he was about to drink soy milk, but we all knew what was really in that bottle. We stood by trying hard not to show what we all knew. I glanced over at Sean, amazed at how he kept the joke going. He was always much better than me at keeping a straight face.

Tony pounded that 4-ounce bottle like it was a cold glass of water on a hot summer day. Everyone was in complete shock. Then they burst into laughter, which quickly turned to disgust. Sean and I could not believe we pulled it off. We laughed so hard we were crying.

Seconds after Tony guzzled the breast milk he suddenly realized what had just happened. His face turned white, his eyes began to water…

Then it happened.

The milk came right back up. He looked like a fire hydrant bursting. The milk sprayed in all different directions, gushing from his nose and mouth.

Once he had successfully spit up (because thats what you call it when its breast milk) all traces of the milk, he stood over the kitchen sink, dry heaving as everyone in the room laughed hysterically.
Without saying a word, Tony cleaned himself up, walked over to the table and sat down.

I walked over, put my hand on his shoulder, looked him straight in the eye and said

“I feel like we’ve just bonded.”

There are so many ways to decorate a little girls room, and to be honest, I think I get the most joy out of creating my daughter a pink paradise :) . I’ve recently finished her room in Salt Lake, and am now putting the finishing touches on her room in St. George (Click HERE to see her SLC room). And before I reveal the finish product of her St. George room I thought I’d share a little something I’ve been working on.

I went with the green and pink theme, but then later decided I wanted to add a splash of chocolate brown to the mix. So here is how I’m doing it.

The bedding I bought was only pink, green, and white, so I added these little brown flowers to the pillows.

It was actually really simple. I just cut out different size circles of this think silky fabric, took a lighter to the edges to give them that flower pedal look, hot glued them together, added a rhine stone, then hot glued it to the pillow.

Then I got this cute little white pillow from Target and added these twisty flowers which are so simple to make. Basically you just take strips of fabric and twist as you hot glue to a round piece of felt.

Here’s a closer look.

Then later I decided I wanted to add some brown trim to the edges. So I just bought the trip at a fabric store, I think it was close to the ribbon section. Anyway, I applied it using this since I really hate to sew.

And this is how it turned out.

Lately I’ve really been into the cuff bracelets. They are just so darn cute, and in my opinion, way more comfortable since they stay in one place.

Here are some of my recent finds. Unfortunately the lady I bought them from does not have a website so I don’t know where to send you to get some. I do know that a lot of boutiques are selling them now, one of them being The Sweetest Thingz. Don’t know if they are AS cute as the ones I found, but they come close :)

I was actually going to try to make a couple of my own and maybe even some baby ones for my little baby on the way. It’s not official that I’m having a girl, but I just THINK I am :) I should be finding out within the next few weeks, so I’ll keep you posted. I will also be sure to post some pics of the cuff bracelets I come up with using my crafty skills.

Check these out!

If you want to win a couple of cute decorative pillows, be sure to enter my giveaway that ends in 2 days.

I hope you find these helpful and are even seeing some weight loss results with them.

Speaking of weight loss, I wanted to introduce you to my friend Nicole (mother of 5) who has recently seen incredible weight loss results from the 9 day cleansing system I use. She is such an amazing women in my eyes. Read her story below.

I am blessed to be the mother of 5 children ages 7 and under. I love being a mom. It is the most rewarding thing I have ever experienced. But it has also been the most exhausting and challenging experience of my life. After our 5th baby was born, the stress of motherhood and 5 pregnancies had definitely taken a toll on me physically, mentally, and emotionally.

I have always been passionate about health and fitness and even became a part-time Turbo Kick instructor after my 4th child was born in hopes that I could help people achieve their health goals. I don’t believe in diets- since they’re not an effective long term solution. My motto for weight loss and good health after each pregnancy was always- “Eat less- move more.” And after each of the first 4 pregnancies, the baby weight came off quickly as I tried to apply this principle. But after I had our 5th child, eating less and moving more was simply NOT working. I could not get the extra weight off despite my best efforts. 10 months went by- and I was still carrying almost all of the extra prego pounds.

The change for me came just this last April after watching “Food Inc”. I learned more about how nutritionally bankrupt our food has become, and I wanted to DO something about it. I was concerned about the state of our health, running on low energy much of the time, dealing with sugar highs and crashes, and feeling overwhelmingly frustrated that I couldn’t drop the baby weight. I believe in the power of prayer, so I poured out my heart in prayer about all these concerns, asked for help… and the next day I stumbled upon a video about Isagenix. I knew immediately that it was an answer to that prayer. The fact that it was not a diet, and not a fast- but a total body nutritional cleanse really appealed to me, so I decided to give it a try- plus with a 100% moneyback guarantee, I felt I had nothing to lose. I knew it was time to make a change and regain control of my unhealthy eating habits.

I was so excited to start a new lifestyle! And the results blew me away. I lost 10 lbs. and 11 inches on the 9 day system, and went on to lose another 11 lbs. and dropped 4 dress sizes.

More importantly, I feel more energy than I have had in years and my cravings are suppressed. It feels so liberating to develop greater self-control over my sugar habit- and I’m hoping to save money on dental bills. I rarely crave processed, refined, nutritionally void foods now because my body is finally getting the nutrients, vitamins and minerals it was really hungry for. I can FEEL the difference. The visible results are just a bonus. :) What kept me on track during the cleanse was a clear motive that I kept in mind. My motive was to have greater health and more energy to better serve my family. I wanted to be an example of excellent health for my children. Another critical factor in achieving this goal was the support of a fabulous coach and a network of new Isagenix friends from a support group to keep me accountable and inspired.

I’m grateful to be one of hundreds of thousands of people who have found renewed hope through Isagenix. So now I’ve decided to share it forward and become involved in promoting and teaching people about it. I’m now a nutritional cleanse coach- helping others achieve their health goals too. What I love about this is I can work from home during the kids nap/bed time- and coach people as they make this healthy lifestyle change. In this business, we can only succeed by helping others succeed! What a blessing to have a chance to make an impact in the world and enrich people’s lives through sharing this phenomenal product and opportunity. It has been such a blessing in my life.

Isn’t she beautiful!!!!

Thank you Nicole for sharing your story with us. You’re an inspiration to all us moms trying to lose the baby weight.
